Eco Tek – Biological Filtration System
Water Filtration
Biological Filtration System
To combat the poor water quality in the most inner parts of False Creek, we want to add a biological filtration system on the shoreline. This system will take in polluted seawater, and filter it through a set of tanks consisting of aquatic plants and bacteria, mimicking natural marshlands. The clean water will then be pumped back into False Creek.

Kimron David Rink
Kim is the founder and president of ECO-TEK Ecological Technologies, an innovative company through which he applies his diverse academic background and experience in ecologically sustainable design strategies, passive solar building construction and project management. ECO-TEK designs ecologically engineered technologies and natural strategies to reduce, recycle, and re-use ‘reclaimed water and nutrients from sewage’. ECO-TEK uses innovative technologies, such as the Solar Aquatic System (SAS), as an “incubator of biodiversity” to increase local food and plant fiber production. This is achieved by converting sewage and other wastewaters into high quality water with recovered pathogen-free nutrients and distributed by efficient re-use/ irrigation networks. The end results are restored local ecosystems, local food security and meaningful local jobs.
